Our aim is to create a positive experience at all our sites that inspires visitors, promotes community involvement and provides a healthy financial return to conserve England's heritage for the future. Reporting to and working with the Property Manager at Birdoswald Roman Fort, you will take the lead in running the day to day operation of the site, ensuring results are delivered.

You'll be optimising every opportunity to generate income, achieving all site performance targets, including retail, catering and membership through target setting, training and coaching your team in active selling. You'll also be involved in engaging the local community with what's happening on site and the Site Manager is also responsible for health and safety measures and financial assurance as sub accountant to ensure the sites function in a safe and responsible manner.

We're looking for a confident manager with solid operational experience, preferably at a visitor attraction, who is happy to engage with external stakeholders to increase local involvement.

In partnership with colleagues across the Territory, you will help shape the culture of our team, role-modelling our values of collaboration, innovation and empowerment

As well as being a people person, you must be commercially focused, with experience in achieving revenue targets through a number of income streams, whilst controlling costs such as payroll to achieve the bottom line. You will need to deliver exemplary customer service combined with high presentation standards, delivered consistently.
