English Heritage tells the stories of England through the 420 sites and 500,000 paintings and artefacts in our care. From Stonehenge to Hadrian's Wall, Dover Castle to Iron Bridge, our sites span some six millennia and are visited by more than 10 million people each year. We need you to join us and help deliver what will be one of the most ambitious fundraising initiatives ever undertaken by a heritage organisation in the UK.
As Events & Stewardship Executive you will play a central role in creating new and stewarding existing donor relationships. You will plan and deliver a programme of events and communications to captivate our major supporters and ensure outstanding cultivation and stewardship at all times. Focussing primarily upon individual major gift relationships, you will also contribute to the stewardship of major charitable trusts and corporate partners. Based in our central London office, you'll have the opportunity to travel regularly to historic sites across the country, working with talented and passionate colleagues in our curatorial and historic properties teams.
We are a new charity with big targets and some of the world's best-known heritage sites in our care, so we can offer you a varied and rewarding role and the opportunity to really grow your career in donor relations.
To be successful in this role, you will be donor-focussed and have a demonstrable track record in delivering fundraising or alumni engagement programmes, including substantial event management experience. You possess the credibility and confidence to brief Trustees and senior volunteers, but you'll also be happy to work with suppliers and manage logistics. You have superb project management skills and happily work on your own initiative, but you also enjoy collaborating with colleagues across a complex and multi-site organisation.
English Heritage offers a broad benefits package which includes a generous pension scheme and 25 days annual leave, alongside the opportunity to take advantage of well-being benefits and discounts, which include free access to all English Heritage sites.
