To Make a Complaint
If you have a complaint we will aim to deal with it there and then. We can't promise not to make mistakes, but we do promise to act quickly when we get things wrong.
A complaint advises us if:
- We have not met your expectations.
- We have not done what we promised to do.
- We have been unfair or treated you badly.
If you wish to make a complaint please let us know straight away. Most complaints can be sorted out quickly by a member of staff at the place you are visiting or by a telephone call to us on 0870 333 1181 or by email to customers@english-heritage.org.uk.

We will try and respond within 10 days. However where further investigations are needed we will write to you confirming that we have received your complaint and we will set out the action we intend to take.
If you are not satisfied with our response you can ask us to investigate the matter further. You should write to the Director of the region or department concerned (addresses listed below) or to the Customer Services Manager at the above address. Your case will be reviewed personally by a senior manager who will not have been involved in the initial investigation of the complaint. The response will usually be in writing and within 10 days of receipt of your complaint.
