Focusing on the Cold War use of the tunnels. Meet Curator Rowena Willard Wright who will set the scene describing Britain’s first reaction to the new nuclear threat after WWII, building up to the Cuban missile crisis and the creation of Regional Seats of Government, using original Civil Defence films and photographs held in the archive at Dover Castle. Enjoy a special tour of Dumpy level which is not open to the public, and hear how it would have been set up in the 1960s. Light refreshments will be provided.
