Time Travellers Go... Crime and Punishment Week!
Venue: Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Northumberland
Date: Mon 27 May - Sun 2 Jun 2013 (bank holiday)

Meet Thomas Turlis, the 18th Century Hangman at Tyburn. Hear his tales of felons and their punishments during the Georgian period and take part in trials. There is also a crime and punishment trail in the grounds.

Time Travellers Go... Roman Festival - Roman Soldier School
Venue: Housesteads Roman Fort - Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland

The Unfolding Sky: Turner in the North is a vibrant re-imagining of the extraordinary depictions of the Northumberland countryside, captured on canvas by the great English landscape painter JMW Turner.
