The Imperial Roman Army

Join the armoured ranks of the Ermine Street Guard as the imperial Roman army is put through its training. Youngsters can join in the drill and training with sessions throughout the day, or meet the Roman potter with hands on fun for all junior potters.

Knight School

Meet the medieval castle knight, splendid in his armour. Hear tales of chivalry and become a knight for the day as you hone your skills for the battlefield in front of a watchful master tutor.

Time Travellers Go... Roman Festival - Roman Pottery School
Venue: Birdoswald Roman Fort - Hadrian's Wall, Cumbria
Date: Tue 28 May - Sun 2 Jun 2013

Local master potter Graham Taylor recreates the life of the travelling craftsman from Roman Britain, complete with his handcart, where the cart wheel turns into the potters wheel. There are opportunities for hands on fun for all junior potters too.
