Access at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens

Wheelchair Access
Castle and manor house reached by 700m path through gardens; access to castle or manor house via steps. Wheelchair access to Castle by ramp from the car park to the ground floor of the hall and the tea room.

RADAR key access for level access route to the hall (via tearoom entrance) and gardens (via toilet gate). Key available at the shop for a refunded hire charge.

Shop has level access but narrow doorway.

Seats are located in the stable courtyard, around the croquet lawn, two seats in the east quarry path and some seating at the castle as well.
Pathways: Surface and Gradients
Paths are gravelled through the grounds. No steep gradients. A very gentle slope on the west quarry path. A gradient map is available in the shop for access routes for wheelchair users. Loose gravel surface in car park.

There is a dog bowl at the entrance to the site and at the castle. There are three dog bins on the site: in the car park; castle and on the quarry garden path.
