Wheelchair Access

There is disabled access to the ground floor and a wheelchair stair-climber which can be used to reach the first floor of the house (although please note that this needs to be booked in advance). The café and conservatory are fully wheelchair accessible.

 

There are two wheelchairs available to hire for use in the house and garden. Please call the site on 0208 995 0508 to make a reservation.

There is one main staircase leading up to the house from outside (a ramp is available if required), and one narrow internal spiral staircase consisting of about 15 steps.

Deep Water
There is a shallow lake in the gardens. Please keep an eye on children when nearby.
Sheer Drop
Located immediately behind cascade (although this is roped off).
Slip Hazard
Some outside surfaces may become slippery when wet.
Steep Slope
There are very few slopes, although there is a steep incline on the Classic Bridge which can be avoided by taking a short signed detour around the Northern end of the river.
Steep Stairs
Steep steps in cellar.
Beware of Traffic
There is limited traffic in the gardens, although buggies and bikes on cycle routes do travel through.
