English Heritage will not be staging a Festival of British Archaeology event at Fort Cumberland this year. It is also unlikely that we will be able to do so in future years. This has been a difficult decision, but as a result of cuts to English Heritage funding following the Comprehensive Spending Review we felt that this was a project we could no longer afford to run.
English Heritage continues to support the Festival of British Archaeology through a grant to the Council for British Archaeology and by staging events at our other sites.
