The car park is located close to the entrance of the site and has approximately 40 spaces, including two disabled bays. There is a fee of £4.00, which is refunded on admission to the site or café.
There is limited additional parking in the town of Helmsley, which is located three miles from the site along Cleveland Way.
Please note: Parking for one coach is available but must be booked advance (please call the site on 01439 798228 to make arrangements).

Moorsbus M8, M91 and the Heritage Bus from Helmsley (connections on Scarborough & District 128 from Scarborough railway station) Tue & Thu all year, Mon-Sat June-Sep, Sundays Apr-Oct. Hodgson’s Bus Company also run the 199 service to Rievaulx Bank Top operating every Friday from first Friday in October to last Friday in June.

Byland Abbey and Helmsley Castle are both within reasonable travelling distance: Helmsley Castle can be reached on foot via the Cleveland Way National Trail. Approx. 31⁄2 miles (11⁄2 hours) each way. Strong footwear required.
