Bring history to life with a guided tour
Many of our sites offer guided tours at a small extra charge. Some offer a free introduction for pre-booked groups. You find these listed for each site on their 'Groups & Trade' page.
Planning Group Visits
We have included group specific information for those properties most suited to group visits on the property entries.
Simply click on the 'Groups & Trade' link to see group specific information. And if your group includes disabled visitors, click on the 'Access Information' link for each property.
School groups will find valuable information in the Education pages.
Booking and Cancelling
When visiting with a group it is usually advisable to book in advance so that we can cater for any requirements you may have, and for you to re-confirm that the site is open.
Contact the site directly for a 'Group Booking Form'.
If you need to cancel a group visit: call the site at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may incur a cancellation fee.
Payment Methods
Regrettably English Heritage cannot accept pre-payment for visits to our sites (special conditions apply for Special Events, Concerts and pre-booked guided tours).
When paying for a group visit you have three options:
- pay by cash or cheque (please make the cheque payable to English Heritage)
- pay by credit card
- join our Priority Access Scheme
The Priority Access Scheme
Our Priority Access Scheme simplifies group administration and speeds up access to sites, ensuring your visit runs smoothly.
Once your account is set up, all your tour leaders have to do is present your company voucher at the point of entry and the group will be waved through with no cash transaction.
We invoice you monthly for the visits you have made.
In order to apply for an account please contact the Travel Trade Department.
