Living at Belsay was a high profile project that enjoyed great success both in visitor numbers and media interest. The main rooms in the Hall were refurnished with contemporary design, with fifteen major pieces specially commissioned for the rooms. From Tom Dixon's four metre long banqueting table, to Sally Greaves-Lord’s exquisite site-specific curtains and carpets, the project included the work of seventy working designers. The finale, a public auction conducted by Phillips auctioneers increased the publicity and brought this innovative contemporary arts project to a triumphant close.
