Pendennis Castle Tudor Worlds

Immerse yourself in the Tudors at two of Falmouth’s key attractions. Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall present Tudor Worlds, a whole day of hands-on Tudor activities for KS2. Explore the Tudor keep and use costumes and artefacts to find out about 16th-century life at Pendennis Castle. Find out about Tudor explorers and investigate the galleries at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Cost: £5 per student, accompanying adults go free.

When: 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th October

Now and Then

Discover how everyday objects and clothes have changed over time and play some games from the past. Costumes and handling artefacts are used to introduce children to the idea of change through time - different styles and methods of production and comparison with today.

Tudor Time Capsules

Use your detective skills to find out about everyday Tudor life at Pendennis Castle. Explore seven mystery boxes with objects linked to themes including Tudor medicine, learning, leisure, games, weapons and seafaring. Meet a Tudor lady and find out about her life and times – from stories of Spaniards to using quill pens, dressing up in armour, even lighting candles with flint and steel!

Join this interactive tour to discover what life was like for soldiers at Pendennis Castle during World War II. Experience what it was like underground during an air raid. Work as a team to see how the guns were fired and use your detective skills to examine the World War II artefacts.
