North Shields Fish Quay is an important regeneration project based around the scheduled 17 th-century Clifford’s Fort within the Fish Quay Conservation Area. The regeneration of this maritime area focuses upon Fish Quay as a site for commerce, living and tourism. Key to this is the restoration and interpretation of historic buildings and structures as part of a multi-million pound project funded by English Heritage, the Single Programme and the European Regional Development Fund.
