Heritage Science Advice

It is important, especially when resources are limited, to find good advice about what is worth doing, and the best way to do it.

In specialist areas like heritage science, the sources of advice may be fewer and it can be harder to work out whether the advice you find is well-informed and impartial.

General Guidance

English Heritage produces a considerable range of heritage science guidance and technical advice notes. These are available on this site as well as in printed form.

Particular Advice

English Heritage’s ability to give detailed advice is limited by staff resources, but we try to give help where possible and especially when there is no alternative source of advice.
