South Kyme Augustinian Priory
South Kyme Augustinian Priory is located on the north bank of the River Slea and is one of several monastic sites within the wider Witham valley. NMP mapping has contributed to research of this site, as large areas are levelled and were visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, They revealed the complexity of the monastic plan superimposed by a medieval moated manor and post medieval gardens. The plot follows standard NMP conventions with features in red representing what were once positive features such as banks or walls and features in green representing negative features such as ditches or pits. © English Heritage.
