Aldbrough bombing decoy (RAF 106G/LA/216 3002)
Aldbrough World War II bombing decoy photgraphed by the RAF on 13-APR-1945. This is a `starfish' bombing decoy and was intended to simulate the effect of a badly blacked out Hull and Hull docks complex. The decoy would at first have small areas illuminated and then, as bombs began to fall, would be set on fire in different ways to simulate the effects of the explosions of different types of bomb.
