Murder at the Fort: A Roman Murder Mystery
Murder at the Fort: A Roman Murder Mystery
Where: Housesteads Roman Fort
Become history detectives and solve a Roman murder mystery! Two skeletons have been found buried at the fort, and pupils must explore the possible murder weapons and suspects. Through group work and exploration they will discover who lived at the fort, their roles and who the murderer could be.
By working in groups to explore various locations around the fort and by following a trail, pupils will be encouraged to gather evidence in the form of clues. Using objects they will try to piece together who has been murdered and a possible motive. They will learn more about life in the Roman army in addition to what life was like in a Roman fort. This will develop students’ discussion skills and encourage them to form judgements based on evidence.
