Kim has been with GLAAS since 2001, having previously worked as a project manager for Pre-Construct Archaeology, an archaeological advisor for the London Borough of Southwark, consultant for AOC Archaeology, and generally mucked around the trenches since 1991.

Her research interests are in Roman numismatics, and she is a fellow of the Royal Numismatics Society. Kim also teaches for two Archaeology courses at Birkbeck College .
