Rob has been head of the Greater London Archaeology Advisory Service since 2001. The role of Regional Archaeologist includes representing GLAAS on regional and national committees, advising on strategic pan London projects, compiling the Annual Review and liaising with the boroughs and the historic environment sector. 

Prior to this, Rob advised on the archaeology of north and west London for 11 years, and developed a particular interest in prehistoric archaeology. Rob has excavated and published numerous sites in London since 1976 while working for a commercial unit.

Rob convenes the following:

• The  Greater Thames Estuary Archaeological Steering Committee 
• The Association of Local Government Archaeological Officers (ALGAO) Planning & Legislation Committee
