Mark has been Archaeology Advisor for South London since January 2000.

Mark is experienced in museum, field and post-excavation work and has been assistant editor of a county archaeological journal. He serves on the committee of the Council for British Archaeology mid-Anglia Region and organised a conference for archaeologists and detectorists in 2003. 

One of the sites Mark advises on is The Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, which is part of the Thames Gateway regeneration area and the European Sharp Project. He gave a paper on the subject to the 2003 conference of the Museum of London and the Venice in Peril Fund, and the Association of Industrial Archaeologists conference in 2004.
