Witness the majesty, pomp and pageantry as Henry VIII arrives at Pendennis Castle. Actors, players, knights, soldiers and ladies accompany the enigmatic King and his Queen as they are entertained with royal tournament archery displays and demonstrations of Tudor falconry. Courtly music fills the air to set the scene for a magnificent highlight each day of Tudor horsemanship which includes a duo of fully armoured Knights in a full contact jousting.
Who will you support – the Blue Knight or the Red Knight? Buy your t-shirt or flag and cheer on your favourite Knight as they go head-to-head in the adrenaline fuelled Jousting competitions. The joust will also be overseen by King Henry VIII.
Visit the arena to watch the arming of the Knight and horses. The King, along with his courageous Knights and Lady of the Court will be showing their skills on horseback in exciting mounted games.
Enjoy amazing falconry displays – did you know that Henry VIII was one of our most passionate royal hawkers, so much so that he made it law that no-one could take a bird from a nest without his permission, even from their own land – presumably to keep the best birds for himself.
The Royal celebrations also continue with processions through the castle grounds and don’t forget to join Peterkin the Jester for ‘A School for Fools’ and watch his hilarious performances ‘Nought ‘twixt the ears’ plus enjoy music from our fabulous minstrels, Nonimus.
