Stairs in the 18th century Merchant's House in North London

A rare and beautiful 18th century Merchant's House in North London is to be saved by an English Heritage Grant. English Heritage is to announce details of a major new repair grant for 810 Tottenham High Road, which has become one of the longest-running and most intractable Buildings at Risk cases in London. One of a symmetrical pair of red brick houses built around 1715, this grade 11 listed building has been left stranded and derelict since the 1980s. The English Heritage grant will allow restoration of this important building after 20 years of failed attempts.
