Fishtrap in Holbrook Bay (NMR 23065/24)

A wooden fish trap in Holbrook Bay in the Stour Estuary. The longer arm of the structure is over 300m in length and the fish trap is nearly a kilometre from the shore. Comparison with other fishtraps in Essex suggests that it could be of Saxon date. 17-APR-2003 © English Heritage. NMR.
