“There’s so much history around here and I love the architecture and the laid-back vibe – it’s a bit of a no brainer that you should retain its character as much as you can. You can understand a bit of development but I’d hate to see Smithfield transformed into a faceless area – it should be community focussed not corporate focussed. We should try and be sympathetic to what’s here and not destroy something for the sake of it.”
