Easy Access to Historic Buildings
These guidelines are intended for those who own, manage or occupy historic buildings and who, under the service provider, employer and education provisions of the DDA, have particular responsibilities towards people with disabilities. They are also intended for those who will be professionally involved in planning alterations to historic buildings or in advising on alternative forms of service provision-for example architects, planners and access consultants. Easy Access to Historic Landscapes
The guidance promotes an inclusive approach to design and management of access, addressing the needs of all people, regardless of age, gender, background or disability. The publication looks at getting the balance between access and conservation and common problems and issues in parks and gardens that are barriers to access. It also includes sources of information on both improving access and conservation. The guidance is a companion volume to English Heritage’s Easy Access to Historic Buildings. Printed copies are available free from English Heritage Customer Services telephone 0870 333 1181. Please quote product code PC51126.
