Traineeships

© English Heritage© English Heritage The Historic Environment Traineeship (HET) Scheme is an exciting new English Heritage initiative for historic environment practitioners. As of October 2008 up to ten Trainees will be placed within our regional teams across the country and will gain experience in the application of professional conservation management skills in a planning and development context over a two year period.

Trainees will receive high-quality training in historic environment management, enabling them to enhance both the depth of their specialist knowledge and the breadth of their inter-disciplinary skills.

© English Heritage© English HeritageThe HET Scheme aims to provide increased capacity for the sector and at the end of their training the new Historic Environment Managers should be ready to meet the challenges presented within a local authority or one of the many other agencies and organisations managing the historic environment. It is not expected that they will be offered employment with English Heritage at the completion of their Traineeship.
