WW1 Trench Experience - complete with Tank!

On 8 August 1918, the British Army fought an action at Amiens. General Rawlinson's plan was to combine air strikes and Mark V tanks together with a fearsome artillery barrage. Infantry advanced closely behind - the basis for all modern tactics of warfare. The tanks followed by soldiers overwhelmed resistance, the cavalry broke through and created havoc in the German rear areas and by mid morning allied forces had advanced 12km, the furthest in a single day by any Allied attack since trench warfare began!
