Chariot Racing

The Formula 1 of its day, chariot racing was one of the dominant sports across the Roman Empire - even Emperor Nero was a fan. The ultimate crucible for the sport was Rome's Circus Maximus, a venue that could seat a quarter of a million people. The poor enjoyed free admission.
