Roman Games

The popular sport of pony racing was held in Ancient Rome's Hippodrome ('horsedrome'). There are no rules to this 200m straight dash. Riders wore the traditional Roman colours of red, white, blue and green, and would race for big prize money while the spectators placed bets on the outcome of the races. Our jockeys use authentic Roman saddles and ride without stirrups.
