Large Digital Screens

Large digital screens in public spaces: joint guidance from English Heritage and CABE

Public Screen in Hull Large screen in King Edward Street, Hull English Heritage and CABE have prepared draft joint guidance to assist local authorities in the consideration of planning applications for large digital screens in public spaces. Some of these will be part of the Live Sites programme for the 2012 Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, but increasingly there are proposals from other organisations, broadcasters and commercial companies to install large digital screens in towns and cities for a variety of purposes. The guidance has been drawn up after extensive discussions with a wide range of interested parties, and is now published for consultation purposes.

We closed our consultation on 27th July 2009. Having taking account of responses received, the final version will be published and circulated to all interested parties as soon as possible.

If you have any questions about the draft document, please contact us by email at  London@english-heritage.org.uk.
