Winners Announced!

The winners of the Belsay Hall competition were revealed on Thursday 23 July. The competition has proved to be a huge success within the region, the UK and across the globe with entries from Suffolk, Hampshire and even as far away as Australia. A panel of judges chaired by David Almond chose one overal winner and two runner up prizes.

Overall winner of the competition is Kirsty Ferry with her story Enchantment. Winner of the over 21s category is Sophie Jackson with her story The Listener and winner of the 12-16 category was Richard Thompson with his story Yearning conflict. Their stories can be downloaded below:

The Pure Inspiration competition continues with a writing competition at Whitby Abbey in North Yorkshire where visitors are invited to submit entries until 4 September 2009.  Entries welcomed from writers of all ages and abilities – although they must share a common theme, using Whitby Abbey as an integral part of the story.
