Training days

The training days are organised in collaboration with the Regional Science Advisors.  The aim of the training days is to inform professional archaeologists about best practice field and laboratory methods in the various disciplines, to provide insight into the research potential and contribution that the archaeological sciences make to site and wider archaeological/historical interpretation and to encourage involvement of environmental archaeologists in the planning, excavation and post-excavation stages of archaeological projects.  Training days have included:

  • Archaeobotany and palaeoecology: nine training days delivered in 2004-5
  • Geoarchaeology: nine training days delivered in 2003-4
