Student placements
We have hosted University of Bradford and University of Southampton placement students, in archaeobotany, geoarchaeology and zooarchaeology. Projects in archaeobotany have included analysis and reporting of charred plant remains from Danebury, analysis and reporting of waterlogged plant remains from Whitby and Hailes Abbey, curation of the plant reference collection and processing of environmental samples. Projects in geoarchaeology have included geochemical analysis and report production for Richborough. Projects in zooarchaeology have included analysing and reporting on an early 20th century AD horse skeleton from Whitby, curating the vertebrate skeleton reference collection, developing an index collection for mammal bones, sorting sieved bone assemblages from Windsor Castle.
