Kirby Hall - Heats 9 & 10

Kirby Hall Kirby HallThe tournament returns to Kirby Hall, an outstanding Elizabethan mansion which featured on the tour in 2005. Built in the hope of receiving Elizabeth I on her annual ‘progresses’, the hall possesses an unusually strict symmetry. Find out why it is the most dramatic “shell” today, and see the beautiful formal gardens which had a reputation in the 17th century as being the finest in all England.

Top tips!

  • Enjoy a picnic in the grounds.
  • Wander through the attractive ‘cutwork’ parterre gardens.
  • Spot the locations from the sets of ‘Mansfield Park’ and ‘A Cock and Bull Story’, both filmed at Kirby Hall.
