    The on site shop has vending machine serving tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Cold drinks, confectionary and various snacks are also available. Ice-cream is sold in the summer.

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to eat in our spacious grounds. There are several benches, or you can spread some rugs out on the grass.

    The abbey is set in a landscape designed by Humphry Repton, the famous landscape gardener, who also planned the grounds of Kenwood House in London. There is plenty of room to run and play in our large open areas. Games of frisbee, and hide and seek around the ruins are very popular!

    We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.

    English Heritage does not permit drone flying from or over sites in our care, except by contractors or partners undertaking flights for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and permissions, and are operating under controlled conditions.
