We have 13 acres of newly re-designed Arts and Crafts gardens for you to explore. The formal borders in front of the manor house are designed by Chris Beardshaw. We have an orchard, pasture with mown paths and a lake, and meadow areas too. The garden is a haven for wildlife, including several types of bats, ground nesting birds, and of course the famous priory stoats which were filmed by David Attenborough.

    Interpretation for Children

Children can discover more about the house and priory with our family explorer pack. There are family-friendly plant markers in the monk's cell garden explaining how the monks would have used the different plants. Children can also keep a look out for Sammy the Stoat, our cheeky illustrated stoat who is hiding on benches and signs around the site.
