UNLIMITED ACCESS TO OVER 400 HISTORIC PLACES
Live and breathe the story of England at royal castles, historic gardens, forts & defences, world-famous prehistoric sites and many others.
Sat 20 & Sun 21 May 2017
Have you ever wondered what life was like in medieval England? Step back in time with the Knight's Hospitaller living history group as they set up camp within the castle walls.
Sniff out what's cooking on the campfire, chat with a knight as he polishes his armour and have a peek inside the tent where the villagers sleep to see if you'd fancy a nap in there. Children can get hands-on with archery too.
Conisbrough Castle was given to the wealthy landowner William de Warenne after the Norman Conquest, but not everyone lived as lavishly as the de Warenne family in the thirteenth century. Visit the villagers for as long as you like, any time between 11am and 5pm, to discover what domestic life was like for them.
