We're celebrating the Yorkshire abbey season in style at Rievaulx Abbey with a weekend of fantastic falconry. Find out about how the aristocracy would have hunted around the abbey ruins with horses, hounds and hawks in the late Georgian period. And hear about how falconry survived at a time when more modern equipment was becoming available.
Stop by the Georgian-style hawk house, open 11am - 5pm, to see the birds of prey up close and feel free to snap a picture or two. Our falconers will be on hand to answer any questions and to tell you more about your favourite birds.
Catch incredible falconry displays at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. We'll be showing you just how the hawks and falcons hunt in the air and on the ground. Watch closely as the birds swoop and dive before your very eyes - some are slow and graceful and others are fast and furious!
Please note that flying displays are weather dependent.
