These terms and conditions apply to the ‘Blooming Gardens’ competition, running on the official English Heritage Twitter account (https://twitter.com/EnglishHeritage) from 08:00 BST on Friday 7th June 2019 until 23:59 BST on Thursday 13th June 2019.

Followers of the official English Heritage account on Twitter will be able to enter the competition by tagging a friend that they would like to take to one of our historic gardens and saying why.

Entries must be received between 08:00 BST on Friday 7th June 2019 until 23:59 BST on Thursday 13th June 2019 to be eligible for entry into the competition.

One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received. The Competition Winner will be notified via direct message on Twitter within 3 days of the closing date. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 24 hours of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

Obscene or inappropriate entries will not be accepted and English Heritage, reserves the right to reject any entries for any reason at its sole discretion.

All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation, as well as (ii) the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) and any other directly applicable European Union regulation relating to data protection and privacy (for so long as and to the extent that the law of the European Union has legal effect in the UK). We will keep your personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without your knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. We will keep your personal data only for the purposes of communicating with you regarding this competition.

Employees or contractors of English Heritage, any person directly or indirectly involved in English Heritage or the running of the competition, or their direct family members are not eligible for the prize.

English Heritage’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives. English Heritage reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value. English Heritage reserves the right to cancel the competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

Entry in the competition signifies acceptance of these rules. English Heritage reserves the right to withhold, change or cancel the prize in the event of non-compliance with these rules. English Heritage also reserves the right at its discretion to amend the competition rules at any time.

PRIZE REDEMPTION

·        The prize is a weekend (3 night) or mid-week (4 night) stay in any English Heritage holiday cottage between 1st September 2019 and the 31st March 2020 (excluding Christmas and new year 20/12/2019-03/01/2020). Eligible holiday cottages can be found at https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/holiday-cottages/

·        Holiday stay must be booked before 1st February 2020.

·        The stay must be taken before the 31st March 2020.

·        All elements of the prize are subject to availability.  

·        No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered

·        The winner will be supplied with an online code which can be redeemed online at point of booking at http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/holiday-cottages/  or by phone by  calling 0370 333 1187.

·        Code can only be redeemed once – (An online code will be provided to the winner)

·        To make the booking you must be aged 18 years or over

·        Once booked, holiday stay is non-transferable and non-exchangeable

·        No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

·        Travel to and from the holiday cottage and additional costs outside of those stated in the prize offer other than the basic cottage booking are not included in the prize and will be your responsibility.
