These terms and conditions apply to the 'Halloween Half-Term Fancy Dress Competition', running on the official Facebook accounts of Audley End, Battle Abbey, Beeston Castle, Belsay Hall, Bolsover Castle, Boscobel House, Brodsworth Hall, Carisbrooke Castle, Carlisle Castle, Dover Castle, Eltham Palace, Framlingham Castle, Goodrich Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Old Sarum, Pendennis Castle, Scarborough Castle, Stokesay Castle, Warkworth Castle, Whitby Abbey, Witley Court, Wrest Park: (“the participating sites”) from 08:00 BST on Saturday 21st October 2023 and 09:00 BST on Monday 6th November 2023.

How to enter:

• Young visitors to one of the participating sites will be able to have the chance to enter by uploading a photo of them in fancy dress taken during their visit.
• The photo must be uploaded as a comment under the pinned post on the participating site’s Facebook page.
• Entries must be received between 08:00 BST on Saturday 21st October 2023 and 09:00 BST on Monday 6th November 2023 to be eligible for entry into the competition.
• Photographs and entries may be shared across our website and social media.

One winner from each of the participating sites will be selected from all eligible entries received. Each winner will receive an English Heritage kid’s bundle. English Heritage will contact each winner via Facebook to arrange delivery of the prize bundle, which will be sent by Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class.

All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation, as well as (ii) the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) and any other directly applicable European Union regulation relating to data protection and privacy (for so long as and to the extent that the law of the European Union has legal effect in the UK). We will keep your personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without your knowledge and consent unless required by law to do so. We will keep your personal data only for the purposes of communicating with you regarding this competition. Employees or contractors of English Heritage, any person directly or indirectly involved in English Heritage or the running of the competition, or their direct family members are not eligible for the prize.

English Heritage’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives. English Heritage reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value.

English Heritage reserves the right to cancel the competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

Entry into the competition signifies acceptance of these rules. English Heritage reserves the right to withhold, change or cancel the prize in the event of non-compliance with these rules. English Heritage also reserves the right at its discretion to amend the competition rules at any time.
