Meet Cold War expert Mark Bennett and Senior Curator Rowena-Willard Wright, who will set the scene describing Britain’s first reaction to the new nuclear threat after WWII, building up to the Cuban missile crisis and the creation of Regional Seats of Government, using original Civil Defence films and photographs held in the archive at Dover Castle.  Enjoy a special tour of Dumpy level which is not open to the public, and hear how it would have been set up in the 1960s. Light refreshments are included.

This event has been graded as challenging access as there are over 70 steps down and back up with no handrail. The tour will take place underground in areas of low lighting and low ceilings.
