UNLIMITED ACCESS TO OVER 400 HISTORIC PLACES
Live and breathe the story of England at royal castles, historic gardens, forts & defences, world-famous prehistoric sites and many others.
Sat 16 - Sun 24 Feb 2019TIME
10am - 4.30pm
Get digging as a junior archaeologist at Stonehenge this February half term and see what you find in our outdoor excavation trench.
And you’ll even get the chance to come face to face with prehistoric people – our facial reconstruction experts will be on hand to show you how to use archaeological evidence to find out what people might have looked like thousands of years ago.
This drop-in workshop is free for Stonehenge ticket holders. The excavation trench is undercover but outside so please wrap up warm. The facial reconstruction activity will take place in the gallery in the Visitor Centre. Children are welcome to try both activities.
Families can also enjoy chatting to our volunteers* in and around our Neolithic village, who will be explaining more about the lives of the people who built Stonehenge.
There's plenty to see and do in our museum and, until 22 April 2019, we have a beautiful exhibition - Making Connections - in our special exhibition gallery showcasing items on loan from the British Museum.
The cafe caters for all appetites and the shop has a great range of pocket money items to choose from.
When you have finished at the visitor centre, don't forget to visit the monument itself! Our shuttle bus runs every few minutes, or you can burn off some energy and walk there.
*We try and have volunteers on site each day but in some instances this is not possible.

Awesome Archaeology is included in the price of admission. To avoid disappointment we strongly advise booking tickets for Stonehenge in advance online.
