Falconry

DATE

Fri 19 - Mon 22 April 2019

TIME

11am - 4pm

LOCATION

Rievaulx Abbey

SUITABLE FOR

Everyone

Enjoy a weekend of fantastic medieval falconry at Rievaulx Abbey this Easter. Find out all about how priests, bishops and monks broke their vows to go hawking and how hunting with birds of prey made money for the abbey.

Stop by the medieval-style hawk house to see the birds of prey up close and feel free to snap a picture or two. Our falconers will be on hand to answer any questions and to tell you more about your favourite birds.

Catch incredible falconry displays throughout the weekend too. We’ll be showing you just how the hawks and falcons hunt in the air and on the ground. Watch closely as the birds swoop and dive before your very eyes – some are slow and graceful, and others are fast and furious!
