Byland Abbey

Byland Abbey Inn

Steeped in history and fully refurbished, Byland Abbey Inn is the perfect place for a relaxing and memorable break away.

Discover this hidden gem surrounded by beautiful open countryside on the edge of the North York Moors, and enjoy some of Yorkshire's finest offerings in the tearoom and restaurant.

The inn with Byland Abbey in the background

The Abbey Inn is steeped in history - from evidence of a medieval hostelry beneath its foundations to the current building made from 'borrowed' stones from the ruins of Byland Abbey. Now imaginatively restored from its origins as an 19th century farmhouse, the Inn has been fully refurbished and furnished to create a wonderfully eclectic mix of old style architecture with modern amenities and facilities.

We offer our guests a choice of three individually designed bedrooms - the Allan Bank Suite, the Nab bedroom and the High Park bedroom. All with spacious en-suite bathrooms and lovely views.

Our award-winning* tearoom is dedicated to providing high quality food using fresh local ingredients. Join us in the bar for a post walk pint and an evening meal in the candlelit restaurant. Yorkshire produces some of the finest food and drink in the country and we aim to offer you some of the best.

Abbey Inn is nestled quietly at the foot of the Hambleton Hills, surrounded by the ruins of Byland Abbey and beautiful open countryside.
