Carscapes: How the Motor Car Reshaped England
12 FEBRUARY - 6 JULY 2014
The motor car transformed England's towns and countryside, changing our working and living patterns, our landscapes to carscapes.
Dramatic aerial photographs illustrated the surprising grandeur of motorway design, and the exhibition explored how our motoring heritage has developed its own art and architecture. To answer through pictures and objects a very modern question, how do people and traffic co-exist? The exhibition launched a new English Heritage publication, England's Motoring Heritage from the Air by John Minnis.
