Rievaulx Abbey in the valley

Join Social History Lecturer, Tony Powell for an in depth discussion and tour of the village of Rievaulx, where the ruins of the Abbey stand proud. See and hear how the Cistercian community changed this landscape and how the Village of Rievaulx developed over time.

Hot drinks and delicious cakes will be served in the café after the tour.

This event has challenging access as the tour will involve a lot of walking, including up and down some steep hills and along uneven surfaces. There will be very limited rest stops along the route and we will be outside for the duration of the tour.
