Dover CastleSUITABLE FOR
Embrace the atmosphere and action of the 1940s as our celebrated WWII Weekend returns for another bank holiday spectacular.
This year, join us to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D Day landings with new activities and a brand new, theatrical arena show. Witness a tense, action-packed battle between the allied and German forces featuring striking pyrotechnics and real-life vintage army vehicles.
Then discover some of the tricks of espionage that were used in Dover in 1944 to deceive the German forces about plans for the D Day landings. Meet the soldiers at military encampments from both sides of the conflict and get up close to a life size replica spitfire.
Experience life on the Home Front and get a victory roll hairdo at our 1940s beauty parlour or relive the blitz spirit with a warming brew from an original Naafi wagon. Pick up something a little stronger from the ‘Resistance’ bar while you set the kids off to play at hands on activities including the Sergeant’s infamous assault course. In the performance tent, hear live music from the Swingtime Sweethearts, or listen to talks on the daring deeds of the Special Operations Executive.
