Arthur's StoneSUITABLE FOR
Last year the first ever proper archaeological excavations took place at one of English Heritage’s most important Neolithic sites – the famous 'Arthur’s Stone'. Work will resume this July, when excavations will focus on the mound itself, and English Heritage Members are being offered special access to see the excavations guided by English Heritage’s curator for the site, Win Scutt. The excavations will be then entering their second week and we can’t wait to see the results.
On arrival, please meet outside the Pandy Inn, Dorstone, HR3 6AX. The tour will take place outdoors so please dress for the weather with suitable footwear. This event has been graded as moderate access as there is a 20-minute walk uphill to site from Dorstone.
