A Tale of Two Sieges

DATE

Sat 19 Mar

TIME

11am - 1pm

LOCATION

Old Wardour Castle

SUITABLE FOR

Adults

Tour the beautiful ruins of Old Wardour, a castle with a bloody Civil War past, with historian Mark Selwood and listen to the tale of two sieges: Royalist Lady Blanche’s romanticised but short-lived defence is contrasted with Roundhead Edmund Ludlow’s bitter and bloody winter siege. Follow the action room-by-room and from tunnel to tower as the stories unfold.

This event has been graded as moderate access as there will be uneven ground along the walk and some steps. Please dress for the weather as there is limited shelter on site.
